What do I want?

Challenged by a friend just now.
He said I'm like a little girl who doesn't know what I want and what I'm thinking.

At least he said I'm like a little girl. Thought he was going to say I'm like a little boy.

Anyway, I told him I know what I'm thinking. Just that I don't want to put my thoughts into actions. Because of fear I guess. Because of what happened before. But I'm glad of what happened last time, because it has trained me to be in more control of my feelings. Doing things rashly is NOT a good thing.

As for whether I know what I want..
I was telling him that sometimes knowing what I want might not be a good thing, because when you know what you want but are unable to make it happen, it becomes a kind of pressure.

Anyway, ask yourself, those of you who claim you don't know what you want.
Is it really because you don't know what you want? Or is it more because you don't dare to want something, because you know it is nearly impossible for you to get it?

Think about the time when you were young. You go shopping with your parents and see a toy you really want. You tell your parents and you either get it or not. After a while, you get used to it. You know what things your parents will get you and what they won't. And your standards adjust accordingly.

Parents are like the environment. It's quite fixed. What is allowed, what is not. What is there, what isn't. What you're able to do, what you're not. What's possible, what's impossible.

Being in that environment shapes the kind of person you are and what you are entitled to. If you are a kid who has parents who don't allow you to play with Barbie dolls, you get the idea after a while and stop asking for Barbie dolls.

Still ask for what? They won't stop rejecting your request no matter how many times you ask.

So you start playing with Lego sets, NOT because you don't like Barbie dolls now, but because you have decided to do what you can.

Who doesn't like A-grades in school? But when asked to set targets and goals, not all of us will want 'A's, simply because for some of us, that isn't within our reach.

Anyway, my friend said I don't know what I want because I'm not letting Mr XXX know that it's him.
It's not because I don't know what I want, but because I know what I DON'T WANT. I don't want our friendship to change.

I still think this way:
Friends last forever.
Boyfriends might not.

Ok, byebye!
