Not the worst

Had the same discussion for the Nth time with my Pa when we were in Malaysia. He said something about all jobs being easier than what he did - construction - having to stand under the hot sun everyday, manage alot of foreign workers, blah.

I was reminded again of how Hanxu always feels slighted when Pa says that our tutoring job is easy - just go and teach. Can't be difficult.

So being me, I said, "Then what can be so difficult about construction work? Got sun can wear helmet. All the workers most probably didn't attend school. You did. You mean with your qualification you're unable to manage them easily? Just herding sheep what."

Of course, some of that was out of spite.

But the point remains.
The world would be a much better place if everyone tries to understand everyone else's position a little more and lets him/her off.

We all think our life is the hardest/saddest.
I think it is exactly this thought that makes our life the hardest/saddest. We bring it upon ourselves.

All that said, tolong please don't think my Pa is a bad person. He's just like any other person from an earlier generation being over-critical. Sometimes.
