My Hot Spot

Deemed relatively unhappening to peers of my age, I am surprised that I am, in actual fact, HAPPENING. Because, I do love shopping afterall.

Hanxiang is now unabashedly declaring that her favourite shopping haunt is..

Not MNG/Top Shop/Zara,
Not G2000,
Not Marks and Spencer,
Not Isetan
Not whatever other high crass shops that's in your mind,

but NTUC.

I just cannot resist taking a walk in NTUC if there's one nearby. If you're thinking I'm addicted to same levels to all brands of supermarkets, you're wrong. It's not that I don't like Carrefour, Giant, Cold Storage or even Marks and Spencer's food section, but NTUC just makes me feel much more comfortable in comparison.

On Friday, I was suffering motion sickness after work, on my journey to meet my family for dinner at bukit batok. (Oh, let me just dwell a little on that. I get it sometimes and it is KER-RAY-ZAY! On that fateful day, I took 188 for two times - dropped at IMM and took it again for a couple stops and dropped again to take a cab despite the horrendous charges now, only to find that I was just one more stop away from my destination. I spent a bloody $4 for the distance between 2 bus-stops. Hell, why did I remind myself about this?!)

Ok, so I touched down after a very unneededly dramatic travelling episode. Was on the verge of throwing up before I went to take a walk in NTUC. By the way, the charm of NTUC naturally drew me there to seek comfort. It was like NTUC had a halo on top of it, and wings by the side and was about to take off but was waiting for my to join it's angelic crew within because without me, their angelism is not complete.

Don't even start doubting that.

Anyway, I suddenly spotted a little girl holding something in her tiny hand running towards Mummy and asking her if she could buy whatever she had in her hand. I was too nauseous to take note of what item it was lah. It even took effort for me not to puke on her as she was a moving object and seeing her put me on the rollercoaster ride all over again.

Wah say, I'm nice beyond believable.

Ok, and I realised why I love NTUC so much. Because I did what the little girl did when I was younger too! (Note: Now young, last time younger.)

NTUC was like second home, when housewives like my Mummy visited it with their kids the most compared to other places. It was like my Mum's and Ah yee's hang-out place last time.

In case you assume they're not happening and don't hang out anymore, NO, they still are happening. Grandmummy, Ah yee and Mummy still lunches out and goes to NTUC every Friday nowadays, but I'm unable to tag along anymore. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. Big shame.

NTUC, the place with the fondest childhood memories.
The place where kids occasionally get to convince their parents to realise their chocolate/candy dreams (like, literally).

I super like.

Ok byebye.

Disclaimer: I am not paid by NTUC to advertise for them because after ALL that I've said, I'm NOT auntie enough and is not an eligible candidate as mascot.
