My Kim Gyu Lim (I)
Gyu Lim is Secondary 2 this year and Korean.
She looks like her age, thinks older than that, but behaves like she's two.
Pretty deep, I know, but it doesn't take much time to figure her out after you spend time with her. Her warm-up time is one tuition session's time, which is slightly more than 2 hours if you include saying Hi at the door before the session and Bye at the door after that.
That was what exactly happened. During her first lesson, she was the most obedient girl, but from the second lesson onwards, the first lesson is history - a kind of which nothing can be learnt from unless you count the fact that she's a great pretender when she wants to but has difficulty keeping it up.
History is irrecoverable.
To illustrate her in words, she's three words - annoying, endearing and highly intelligent. Ok, maybe four.
She looks like she is not listening to me (looking in the mirror, making funny faces at me and asking me to tell her stories unrelated to Maths and English) and makes me order her to, like a dog - in the process feeling a guilty - but always manages to solve questions so easily that I feel whatever I teach her is repetitive kindergarten knowledge.
"Teacher, so easy meh!"
Being highly intelligent enabled her to pick up Singlish pretty fast too, just that hers is still far from what locals are capable of. Well, at least she tries her best, especially with the wrong things.
Why do kids always like to learn wrong things?
I guess it feels empowering.
She has accused me countless times of having gone under the knife.
Today, she made me tell her the 'love story' of Edward and I and giggled a lot.
She advised me to punch Edward sometimes and not be too nice to him.
She also mentioned that I should surprise Edward on the coming Valentine's Day because, if I don't surprise Edward once in a while, the relationship will turn boring.
She said Edward should give me chocolates on Valentine's Day.
And I should later give them to her...................
I'll continue another day.
Non-stop crap in the house.
